Events

Everything about events
The event is the core of the app. The event is everything. It’s your trip, your adventure, your training, your competition, ...

Creating an event

To create an event, just enter its name and password.

Editing an event

You can edit the following fields:

  • slug – a cleaner URL for sharing your trip
  • privacy – set whether the event is public or private. Only premium users can create public events
  • type – for better organization: trip, outing, competition, training, meeting, work, travel, other
  • category – for easier filtering: walk, hiking, running, cycling, transport, mixed, other
  • logo and banner – every event needs a proper visual
  • route – upload a GPX file to define the event route (optional but useful)
  • checkpoints – key locations to pass through on the map
  • emergency contacts – people who can see your position even in protected events; they will also be notified in case of an alert
  • participants – people who can track their location in your event without creating their own
  • public sign-up – users can join and track themselves in your event
  • repeated tracking – separate vs continuous tracking
  • plan – mark events you want to accomplish
  • fixed start – set a specific start date so it shows in your calendar

Privacy

Events can be:

  • Public – all logged-in users can view the event data and participants
  • Private – users must enter a password to see someone’s location

Repeated tracking

When to use it?

  • Enable – every session creates a separate record (great for training on the same route)
  • Disable – all sessions are combined under one event (good for trips that span multiple days)

By default, all events are hidden from search. To make an event discoverable:

  • Enable search visibility in editing
  • Add a logo image

Sharing

Private events

To let others follow you:

  • Share the event ID and password (useful for friends or groups)
  • Or add them as emergency contacts – they won’t need the password (ideal for parents, partners, children, close friends)

Public events

Simpler process:

  • Share the event ID
  • Or just tell them the event name (if visibility is enabled) so they can search for it
